ALEXANDRIA, La. (UrbanCast: 9/21/2026) — Families and residents living at a trailer park at 650 Bolton Avenue are now without running water after the City of Alexandria shut off service to the entire property.
For the people who live there, this is not simply a utility issue.
It means no dependable water for bathing, washing dishes, cleaning homes or flushing toilets. It means residents are being forced to manage basic daily needs under conditions most people would consider unacceptable.
Some residents told UrbanCast their problems began long before the latest shutoff.
They said water service to certain individual units had already been turned off about two months ago because of major leaks. Those residents have reportedly been trying to cope without normal water service for weeks.
Other residents said they still had water until recently, when the City of Alexandria shut off service to the entire park.
A reliable source confirmed to UrbanCast that the property is currently without water service.
Residents have also described unsanitary conditions at the property. Without running water, even ordinary tasks become difficult. Toilets cannot be used normally. Dishes pile up. Bathing becomes a challenge. Cleaning living spaces becomes harder.
For residents with children, elderly family members or other vulnerable people in the home, the situation can become even more difficult.
These are residents of Alexandria, and regardless of the circumstances surrounding the property, they still have to wake up each morning and figure out how to live without one of the most basic necessities.
That human impact should not be lost.
At the same time, serious questions remain about how conditions reached this point, how long some residents have lived without dependable water and what will be required before service is restored.
It is also unclear how quickly those answers will come.
UrbanCast did not seek comment from the City of Alexandria for this story. For approximately two years, requests to the administration for public safety information have routinely gone unanswered.
UrbanCast remains open to receiving information and responses from city officials. However, we will not continue chasing the administration for basic public information it has repeatedly failed to provide.
The focus now remains on the people living at the property.
They deserve clear information about what is happening, what comes next and how long they may be expected to live without running water.
