Teenager Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash on LA. Hwy 117 Near Kisatchie

Kisatchie, LA (May 4, 2024) – In the early hours of this morning, a teenager from Frierson sustained moderate to severe injuries in a single-vehicle crash on La. Hwy 117 near Kisatchie, as reported by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO).

The incident occurred around 3:57 AM, prompting a swift response from various emergency services, including Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #4, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS. They were alerted by the NATCOM 911 Center regarding a single-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment on La. Hwy 117, just north of Kisatchie.

Upon arrival at the scene, responders found the sole occupant of the vehicle trapped inside the wreckage, suffering from moderate injuries. Fire District #4 utilized extrication equipment to safely free the driver from the mangled vehicle.

According to deputies, the crash involved a 17-year-old Frierson resident who was operating a 2007 Toyota pickup truck. Preliminary findings suggest that the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree.

In efforts to provide swift medical attention, an Air EVAC medical helicopter was dispatched. However, adverse weather conditions forced the cancellation of the aerial evacuation.

The investigation into the crash is being conducted by troopers from the Louisiana State Police Troop-E Alexandria.

As authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident, residents are reminded to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations while driving on Louisiana’s roadways.
