Rapides Parish, LA (5/3/2024) — As the academic year comes to a close, the Rapides Parish School Board is gearing up to celebrate the next generation of educators with an inaugural Senior Signing Day hosted by the Educators Rising Club. This special event will honor 19 seniors who are making the commitment to enter the field of Education.
Scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at various schools across the district, the Educators Rising Signing Day aims to recognize and applaud these students for their decision to pursue careers in education. Similar to the excitement of high school sports signing days, students and administrators will have the opportunity to be interviewed, highlighting their aspirations and dedication to the teaching profession.

The signing ceremonies will be held at the following schools and times:
- Buckeye High School (7:45-8:45 AM): LSUA & LCU
- Tioga High School (9:15-9:45 AM): LSUA & Southern University
- Rapides High School (10:30-11:00 AM): LSUA
- Alexandria Senior High (11:45 AM – 12:15 PM): University of Louisiana at Lafayette & Grambling
- Northwood High School (1:00-1:30 PM): Northwestern State University
- Oak Hill High School (2:15-2:30 PM): Northwestern State University
- Plainview High School (3:15-3:30 PM): LSUE
During these ceremonies, students will officially sign their commitment to pursue careers in education, symbolizing their dedication to shaping the future of our community through teaching. Representatives from various universities will also be present to show their support and provide guidance to these aspiring educators as they embark on this important journey.
