Rapides Library Launches Free Language Courses for Community

Rapides Parish, LA (May 14, 2024) – In an effort to promote cultural exchange and language proficiency within the community, the Rapides Library has announced the launch of free language courses available to all residents.

With a diverse population and a growing interest in language learning, the Rapides Parish Library aims to provide accessible resources for individuals to expand their linguistic skills and connect with others from different backgrounds.

Courses will cover a range of languages, including Spanish, French, Mandarin, and more, catering to the diverse linguistic needs of the community. Taught by experienced instructors and language enthusiasts, the courses will offer both beginner and intermediate levels to accommodate learners of all skill levels.

The initiative comes as part of the library’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational opportunities and promote lifelong learning among residents. In addition to language courses, the Rapides Library offers a wide range of educational programs, resources, and services to support the diverse needs and interests of its patrons.

Registration for the free language courses is now open, with classes scheduled to begin in June. Interested individuals are encouraged to visit the library’s website or contact the library directly for more information on course offerings and registration details.

The Mango Languages is accessible in the library and at home when using a computer by visiting www.rpl.org then following the Louisiana Library Connection link (https://lalibcon.state.lib.la.us/). You can also download the Mango apps for iOS and Android phones and tablets then input your Rapides Parish Library card information for access.

As the community eagerly anticipates the launch of these language courses, the Rapides Library remains committed to empowering individuals with the tools and resources they need to thrive in an increasingly globalized world.
