Pineville, Louisiana (May 14, 2024) – The Pineville City Council is set to convene for their regular session today at 6:00 p.m. at the City Hall Council Room located at 910 Main Street in Pineville.
The agenda for tonight’s meeting covers a range of topics, including both old and new business items of significant importance to the community.
Among the highlights of the agenda, the council will recognize the Pineville Junior High School Girls Softball Team for their remarkable achievement of winning the Cenla Junior High Basketball League District Championship. Additionally, accolades will be extended to the Pineville High School Girls Softball Team for their commendable season, which led them to the LHSAA Division I (Select) State Tournament semi-final game.
A special presentation by Craig Phillips, Commander of American Legion Post 3 and former Mayor of Lecompte, will honor Pineville Fire Department Captain Dale Dion as a “Hometown Hero”.
In terms of old business, discussions will include lifting the condemnation decision on properties located at 206 & 208 Lakeview Street and condemnation hearings for several single-family homes in the area.
Under new business, the council will vote on several resolutions, including the adoption of policies and procedures for participation in the State of Louisiana Community Development Block Grant Demolition Clearance Program and the acceptance of contracts for various infrastructure projects.
