Clovis, NM (May 5, 2024) – On May 3, 2024 at Ned Houk Park turned into a harrowing ordeal when the Clovis Police Department responded to a call at approximately 4:26 PM on May 3, 2024. The caller reported the discovery of two deceased females at the park, located 5 miles north of Clovis.
Upon arrival, officers found Samantha Cisneros, 23, and Taryn Allen, 23, both from Texico, NM, tragically shot dead near a silver Dodge minivan. Alongside them lay a young female child, also injured, receiving urgent medical attention from officers.
Clovis EMS transported the injured child to Plains Regional Medical Center before transferring her to a hospital in the Lubbock, TX area for further care.
The presence of an infant car seat, stroller, and baby bottle at the scene raised immediate concerns for the safety of another child. Investigators soon learned that Samantha Cisneros, the mother of the injured child found at the scene, was also the mother of a 10-month-old infant, Eleia Maria Torres.
With mounting fears that Eleia Maria Torres had been abducted, authorities wasted no time in issuing an Amber Alert, recognizing the urgency of the situation and the need for immediate action.
The 9th Judicial Major Crime Unit has assumed control of the investigation, asking the public for any information regarding the victims or individuals present at Ned Houk Park on the day of the incident.
