Natchitoches:  Incident at Super 1 Foods Leads to High-Speed Pursuit and Arrest

Natchitoches, LA (1/17/2023) – On January 15, 2024, at approximately 2:28 p.m., the Natchitoches Police Department responded to a reported theft in progress at Super 1 Foods on Keyser Avenue.

The incident escalated into a dramatic confrontation, leaving officers injured and resulting in the arrest of Lakendra Bolton, 25, of Natchitoches.

Upon arrival, officers found Bolton inside the store, and she attempted to evade arrest by running to her vehicle in the parking lot. In a shocking turn of events, she drove over officers while trying to flee, escaping towards South Drive.

A subsequent pursuit ensued, leading officers to Bolton on South Drive. During the chase, Bolton made aggressive attempts to evade law enforcement, including ramming an officer and colliding head-on with another police vehicle, forcing an end to the pursuit.

Lakendra Bolton now faces serious charges, including three counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer, felony hit and run, reckless operation of a vehicle, theft, and various bench warrants. She has been placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

The injured officers are undergoing medical treatment, with one transported to a hospital in Rapides Parish with a serious lower body injury, while two others were transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
