Alexandria, LA (12/9/2024) – The Alexandria Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted for attempted second degree murder on Richmond Drive.
Officers responded to a shooting at the 600 block of Richmond Drive on December 9th, just after midnight. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police have identified the suspect as 42-year-old Michael Wayne Collins Sr. of Alexandria, LA. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Authorities warn that Collins is considered armed and dangerous.
This is an ongoing investigation, and police have not disclosed the victim’s condition or a possible motive for the crime. Community assistance is crucial in locating Collins and resolving the case.
