LCU Convergence Media Students Win Awards at SEJC

PINEVILLE, La. (2/3/2025) – LCU Convergence Media students win awards at SEJC during the Southeast Journalism Conference held at Mississippi State University in Starkville.

Over the weekend, nine Louisiana Christian University students competed in on-site events alongside peers from universities across the Southeast.

Danny Cobb and Adán Wright earned third place in TV Sports, showcasing their talent in a highly competitive field.

The Best of the South awards also recognized outstanding published and broadcast journalism from 2024. LCU students received multiple honors:

  • Kai Stone: 4th place, TV Hard News Reporter; 4th place, TV Feature Reporter
  • Cayden Walls: 5th place, TV Feature Reporter
  • Wildcats Media Sports Podcast: 3rd place, Best Audio Program

The Southeast Journalism Conference includes 25 universities from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky. The competition offers students opportunities to showcase their skills and earn recognition among regional peers.

LCU’s continued success at SEJC highlights the strength of its convergence media and public relations programs. Students and faculty celebrate their achievements, reflecting the university’s dedication to excellence in journalism.
