Alexandria, LA (9/14/2024) – On Friday, September 13, 2024, at approximately 11:09 PM, the Alexandria Police Department responded to a shooting in the 2900 block of Locust Street. Upon arrival, officers found 26-year-old Justin May, of Alexandria, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Authorities identified the suspect as 32-year-old John Kimbro. A warrant for Second Degree Murder was issued for Kimbro, who was considered armed and dangerous. The homicide in the 2900 block of Locust Street has left the community in shock.
Multiple sources have reported that John Kimbro turned himself in at the Alexandria Public Safety Complex around noon on Saturday. Kimbro surrendered without incident. The investigation into the homicide in the 2900 block of Locust Street is ongoing. Police are continuing to gather evidence and conduct interviews.
