Derrick Johnson brings a long record of public service to the partnership. Johnson served as mayor of the Town of Cheneyville for 12 years, from 2013 to 2025. He also served as president of the Louisiana Municipal Association from 2023 to 2024 after previously serving as first and second vice president.
Johnson currently serves as an assistant district attorney with the Rapides Parish District Attorney’s Office. His background also includes nearly 12 years of service in the U.S. military, where he attained the rank of sergeant.
He earned his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Through Derrick Johnson & Associates, the firm provides legal representation in areas including property disputes, custody, divorce and automobile accidents.
