Alexandria PD is warning the public of a phone scam by police impersonators

Alexandria, LA (6/5/2023) – The Alexandria Police Department (APD) is warning the public of a phone scam by police impersonators.

On Monday, June 5, 2023, APD was made aware of a possible scam wherein a caller identifying himself as an Alexandria Police Officer stated to the person called that they have a warrant for their arrest. 

If you receive a phone call as described, please hang up and call APD Dispatch at (318) 441-6559, who would be able to assist the public in verifying the legitimacy of the call.

This is currently an ongoing investigation.
