Natchitoches, La. (11/4/2022) – The Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) has identified a suspect in St. Maurice Lane shooting. NPD is asking the public for assistance locating Ashton Phillips, 19, of Natchitoches.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Ashton Phillips. Phillips is charged with two counts of each aggravated assault with a firearm and aggravated criminal damage to property.
Ashton Phillips is considered to be armed and dangerous. Remember all information given shall remain confidential.

Natchitoches Police investigate gunshots on St. Maurice Lane
The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating two separate reports of gunshots. The shots were fired on St. Maurice Lane Sunday night and early Tuesday morning.
On October 30, 2022, around 9:09 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department responded to the 500 block of St. Maurice Lane about gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they located several witnesses who said that two vehicles began shooting at an individual on East Sixth Street. An altercation occurred at a local business, according to officers on the scene. The individuals inside the two vehicles shot at the victim in retaliation.
On November 1, 2022, around 3:50 a.m., officers again responded to the area’s 500 block of St. Maurice Lane about gunshots. Officers and detectives are still investigating this case, and we will release more details as they become available.
