RPSO Update: Burglary Arrest Made, Unidentified Man Wanted After Heavy Deputy Presence in West Alexandria

Alexandria, La. (1/22/2026) – RPSO burglary arrest Alexandria remains the focus after deputies confirmed details surrounding a heavy law enforcement presence in west Alexandria.

Earlier, UrbanCast reported multiple resident and driver accounts of marked and unmarked RPSO units speeding along Highway 28 West. The units turned onto Heyman Lane and later converged near Castle Road. Witnesses described what appeared to be a foot pursuit.

At the time, officials had not confirmed the incident. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use caution while deputies worked the scene.

RPSO later confirmed that at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, deputies responded to a reported burglary in progress. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Cinderella Court in Alexandria.

According to investigators, witnesses reported two individuals loading property into a U-Haul truck from the residence. As a result, patrol deputies and Crime Suppression Unit deputies responded to assist.

Upon arrival, deputies located one suspect inside the residence. Deputies identified the suspect as Marcus Deyon Parks, 41, of Alexandria.

Deputies took Parks into custody without incident. Authorities later booked him into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

Parks faces charges of criminal damage to property valued between $1,000 and $50,000 and simple burglary. No bond has been set at this time.

Investigators confirmed a second suspect remains at large. Video footage shows an unidentified white male assisting Parks. However, the suspect left the scene before deputies arrived.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law or administrative action.
