MONROE, La. (10/28/2025) – Monroe police are investigating a triple homicide that occurred around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday on Grammont Street, near the city’s public works department. Authorities found three victims: a 26-year-old man, a 2-year-old child, and another adult male dead at the scene. Each victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Police identified the victims as Jaborris Simpson (26), Jhersi Simpson (2), and Jamal Bosley. Investigators say they are pursuing leads, though no suspects or motives have been released.
During a press conference, Mayor Friday Ellis called the shooting a “moral wake-up call” for the community. He urged residents to support one another and share any information with police. “We are grieving with the family,” Ellis said. “This is a sobering reminder that we have more work to do.”
Police Chief Victor Zordan described the crime as a “special kind of evil.” He confirmed that drugs may have been involved and said detectives are following strong leads. “We have a baby killer running loose,” Zordan said. “We will find them and bring them to justice.”
Zordan announced that Crime Stoppers has increased its reward to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. The public is urged to contact (318) 388-CASH with any tips.
Mayor Ellis emphasized the city’s continued commitment to reducing violence through community partnerships and youth outreach. Faith-based leaders joined him in prayer for the victims’ families and for justice to be served.
