Alexandria, LA (9/16/2025) – The Alexandria community is grieving after the tragic loss of 22-year-old Jaheim Williams, who was killed in a senseless act of violence on Mansour Drive.

On Monday, September 15, 2025, Alexandria Police arrested 24-year-old Michael Hilliard in connection with the September 13 homicide. Hilliard has been charged with second-degree murder and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. The case remains under investigation.
A Young Life Cut Short
Williams, remembered as a devoted father, leaves behind two young sons, ages three and just ten months. His mother shared on social media that Jaheim was the heart of their family, their joy, laughter, and strength. A former athlete at Peabody Magnet High School, he wore #20 proudly and was cherished by his friends, teammates, and community for his loyalty and drive.
“Everything he did was for his boys,” his mother wrote. “Now I face the hardest task a mother can, laying my son to rest while caring for the children who no longer have their father.”
A Plea to End Gun Violence
This tragedy is yet another painful reminder of the toll gun violence takes on families and communities. Too many sons, brothers, and fathers are being buried far too young. UrbanCast joins the family in pleading: put down the guns so that no other family has to endure this kind of heartbreak.
How to Support the Family
Friends, neighbors, and anyone moved to help can support the Williams family during this devastating time. Donations are being accepted to help cover funeral expenses and provide for Jaheim’s two young children.
