WASHINGTON, La. (7/3/2025) – Kraft Heinz Foods Company has announced a recall of approximately 367,812 pounds of fully cooked turkey bacon products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm), according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The affected Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon was produced at the company’s Newberry, S.C., facility between April 24, 2025, and June 11, 2025. The products were distributed to retailers nationwide and exported to the British Virgin Islands and Hong Kong.

- 12 oz. vacuum-packed packages of “Oscar Mayer Turkey BACON ORIGINAL”
- UPC: 071871548601
- Use by dates: 18 JUL 2025 – 02 AUG 2025
- Lot code: RS40
- 36 oz. packages containing three 12 oz. packages
- UPC: 071871548748
- Use by dates: 23 JUL 2025 – 04 SEP 2025
- Lot codes: RS19, RS40, RS42
- 48 oz. packages containing four 12 oz. packages
- UPC: 071871548793
- Use by dates: 18 JUL 2025 – 04 SEP 2025
- Lot codes: RS19, RS40, RS42
Each recalled item bears the USDA inspection mark on the front label.
The issue was discovered during routine laboratory testing at the facility. So far, there have been no confirmed illnesses linked to the turkey bacon.
Listeria Risk and Recommendations
Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection affecting primarily pregnant women, newborns, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, and gastrointestinal distress. Pregnant women are at risk for miscarriages or stillbirths.
Consumers are urged to check their refrigerators and freezers for these products. Do not consume them; instead, return them to the place of purchase or discard them.
