DERIDDER, LA (4/24/2025) – Pedestrian killed by train in DeRidder Thursday evening, prompting an active response from local authorities and emergency crews.
According to DeRidder Police Deputy Chief Darren Hall, a southbound train struck a person who was on the tracks.
The train is currently stalled in downtown DeRidder as officials investigate the incident.
The DeRidder Fire Department is asking drivers to avoid Mahlon Street, First Street, and 4th Street until further notice.
No further details about the victim have been released at this time.
