BATON ROUGE, La. (3/11/2025) – . Three suspects accused in the Caleb Wilson hazing death are now in custody, authorities confirmed Tuesday.
Kyle Thurman was arrested at a home in Port Allen on Monday, March 10, after missing a Sunday deadline to surrender to police. With assistance from U.S. Marshals, Thurman was taken into custody shortly after 3:30 p.m. He faces charges of felony hazing.
Isaiah Smith surrendered to authorities Tuesday morning just before 11 a.m. His bond hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Caleb McCray was previously arrested and booked with manslaughter. McCray posted a $100,000 bail late Friday, March 7.
Police say Wilson was killed during an off-campus fraternity hazing ritual. Omega Psi Phi pledges were allegedly punched repeatedly in the chest by fraternity members wearing boxing gloves.
Southern University has suspended all activities of the Beta Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi pending ongoing investigations and judicial proceedings. The university is cooperating fully with police, and additional arrests are possible as investigators continue to build their case.
