Alexandria, LA (9/19/2024) – The Alexandria Police Department (APD) has confirmed that 32-year-old Latraykus May, the third suspect in the Cypress Street homicide investigation, has turned himself in.
May surrendered to authorities at approximately 4:35 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2024. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property in connection with the tragic death of 12-year-old Hope Alexandria Coleman.
May’s arrest follows the earlier apprehension of his brother, Deroyce May II, and Kayla Wooten. All three suspects are now in custody. Latraykus May is being held without bond, as is Deroyce May II, who faces similar charges. Kayla Wooten, who was arrested on charges related to the homicide, also remains in custody with no bond set.
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) and the Louisiana State Police (LSP) have worked tirelessly on this case, demonstrating their commitment to justice for Hope Alexandria Coleman’s family and friends. Their dedication has resulted in the capture of all three individuals allegedly involved in this horrific crime.
