LCU students earn awards at 2024 National Religious Broadcasters Convention

Nashville, TN (2/22/2024) – Students from Louisiana Christian University’s Convergence Media and Theatre programs earned several awards at this week’s National Religious Broadcasters Convention.

The students competed in the convention’s iNRB collegiate division, which includes other colleges from across the United States.

LCU placed in the following categories:

12-Hour News Challenge, First Place – Victoria Watson and Carmen Taffi.

12-Hour Audio Challenge, Second Place – Lexi Hubbard and Korey Kincade.

24-Hour Film Challenge, Second Place – Cayden Walls, Caleb Cole, Camdyn Fehr and Olivia Huffman.

“These on-site challenges provide our students with the opportunity to compete against their peers from other schools in a high-pressure, tight deadline environment,” said Al Quartemont, LCU assistant professor of journalism. “More than that, our students are getting to hear from and meet with some of the top professionals in the Christian media industry. Beyond the competitions, the experiences they are getting and the lessons they are learning will help propel them into their own media careers.”

NRB is celebrating its 80th anniversary at this year’s convention, which concludes on Friday. Thursday, the convention will hear from former president Donald Trump who will be the featured speaker of its Presidential Forum.
