Alexandria, LA (2/2/2024) — Funeral services for Kenneth Brian Walters, II, aged 17, will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Terry Kirk. The interment will take place at Edgefield Cemetery in Cheneyville, LA.
Mr. Walters, a resident of Alexandria, tragically lost his life on Sunday, January 21, 2024, in Tioga, LA, due to gun violence. He is survived by his parents, Roxanne Moore and Kenneth Walters, III, his brother Davionte Mullins, and sisters Curleshia Moore, Shehava Fulton, Kentavia Walters, Kennetta Walters, Ken’Netra Walters, Ken’Naja Walters, and Aniya Walters.

On the evening of Sunday, January 21, 2024, at around 6:45 PM, the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call reporting shots fired in the 4700 block of Handley Loop.
Upon arrival, Patrol Deputies discovered a male victim with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The scene was secured, and Sheriff’s Detectives and Crime Scene units commenced their investigation.
Initial information suggested an unidentified suspect had shot the victim and fled. As all parties involved were juveniles, deputies interviewed witnesses and parents while saturating the area with patrols.
Detectives uncovered that one of the juveniles had discharged the firearm, resulting in the victim’s tragic death. The juvenile responsible was arrested for one count of negligent homicide and transported to the Renaissance Home for Youth for detainment.
The Rapides Coroner’s Office verified the age of the victim and indicated that an autopsy has been ordered.
Kenneth’s mother, Roxanne Moore, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a Facebook post, saying, “Man, My Baby is gone 💔💔 always will love you Kenneth B Walters fly high.”
