Pineville PD:  High Speed Chase Through the Streets of Pineville Ends at the Meeker Exit on I-49

Pineville, LA (1/23/2024) – In a dramatic turn of events, a high-speed police chase unfolded in Pineville, Louisiana, culminating in the arrest of Travis Delome, a 41-year-old male from Jennings, LA, on a Tuesday afternoon.

The sequence of events began when officers were dispatched to Greenwood Cemetery following reports of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, a dark blue Chevrolet Impala, driven by the suspect, recklessly traversed over graves before fleeing the scene. Subsequently, a pursuit ensued, weaving through downtown Pineville and onto I-49 South.

The chase reached its end when the suspect’s vehicle was disabled at the Turkey Creek/Meeker exit. Without further incident, Travis Delome was apprehended by law enforcement. Delome now faces a slew of charges, including Desecration of Graves (3 counts), Aggravated flight from an Officer, Aggravated assault of an Officer, Obstruction of justice/evidence tampering, and Possession of CDS II.

According to multiple sources, the intensity of the pursuit involved approximately 6 Pineville Police Department Units, along with support from Units from the Lecompte Police Department, Louisiana State Police, and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Remarkably, no injuries were reported during the chase. Travis Delome is currently in custody at the Rapides Parish Detention Center. Authorities urge anyone with information related to this incident to contact the Pineville Police Department at 318-442-6603.
