East Feliciana Parish, La. (11/28/2022) – 6-year-old was killed, and parents were injured after a drunk driver crashed into their vehicle.
Kenneth King, 62, Of Jackson, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, negligent injury, reckless operation, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, and open container violation.
Clara Carpenter, 6, of St. Francisville, was killed due to a drunk driver.
On Friday, November 25, 2022, East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office (EFPSO), Jackson Police Department (JPD) & Louisiana State Police (LSP) responded to a crash on Highway 10 (Charter Street) in Jackson, Louisiana.
Investigators said the family was driving along the highway when a vehicle in the other lane, driven crossed the center line and slammed into their car.
Clara’s parents were injured and transported to a local hospital. They are expected to recover.
Authorities took a toxicology sample from King and determined he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
King was taken to a hospital for his injuries and will be booked into the EFPSO Prison after being discharged.
