Will Pineville Mayor Rich Dupree Address EEOC Allegations in Council Administrative Briefing?

Pineville, LA (9/10/2024) – The Pineville City Council is scheduled to meet tonight at 6 p.m., preceded by an administrative briefing at 5:00 p.m. in the Administration Conference Room.

While the agenda lists various items including condemnation hearings and infrastructure resolutions, many citizens are wondering if Mayor Rich Dupree will address the recent allegations directed at him by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

When asked for a comment regarding the EEOC allegations, Mayor Dupree responded, “I’m sorry that this is all I can say at this point: Thank you for reaching out. I’d love to respond in more detail, but since this is pending litigation, our lawyers have asked that all requests for information or comment be referred to City Attorney, Mark Vilar.”

Mayor Dupree continued, “I’m remaining focused on taking care of my family and serving this City, where we have so many good things going on. Thank you again for reaching out!”

While the EEOC allegations are not formally on the meeting agenda, many residents are eager to see if the Mayor will address them further during the briefing or public meeting. As of now, there is no indication that the matter will be publicly discussed, but the Mayor’s brief statement suggests the city is handling the situation through legal channels.
