Volunteers of America Launches School Supply & Uniform Drive in Alexandria

Alexandria, LA (5/30/2024) — Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana has initiated a School Supply & Uniform Drive to support students in need.

Running from now until June 30th, the drive aims to collect essential school supplies and uniforms for students of all ages in the region.

The organization is calling on the community to donate items such as notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and school uniforms of any size and color. Donations can be dropped off at the Volunteers of America office located at 3704 Coliseum Blvd., Alexandria, LA 71303. For those unable to deliver donations in person, the organization offers a pickup service to collect items directly from donors’ locations.

“This drive is crucial in ensuring that every student starts the school year with the tools they need to succeed,” said a spokesperson for Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana. “We are committed to supporting our local students and easing the burden on families who may struggle to afford school supplies and uniforms.”
