Vidalia, LA (5/9/2023) – In February 2023, the CPSO Cyber Crime Unit began investigating an adult subject who made contact with a minor online by way of social media.
Joe H. Simmons, 31, of West Monore, Louisiana, was arrested and charged with Indecent Behavior with Juveniles and Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor.
Over the course of several months, Simmons engaged in inappropriate conversations, expressed his desire to be with the minor by writing multiple love poems, and transmitted sexually explicit images of himself.
Upon positively identifying him, an arrest warrant was obtained and he was discovered to reside in a West Monroe apartment complex. Contact was made with the West Monroe Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, who were able to locate the suspect and execute the arrest, along with a search warrant at the residence.
The matter remains under investigation ongoing.
