Alexandria, LA (9/19/2024) – Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office Inmate Inquiry System has confirmed the arrest of 31-year-old Deroyce May II, who was taken into custody overnight in connection with the homicide on Cypress Street, which claimed the life of 12-year-old Hope Alexandria Coleman.
May was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center at 12:44 AM on charges including Second Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.
May had been wanted alongside 32-year-old Latraykus May for their alleged involvement in the September 14, 2024, shooting. Kayla Wooten, 38, was previously arrested and charged in connection with the case.
The Alexandria Police Department is still actively searching for Latraykus May, who remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities are urging the public to provide any information that could lead to his arrest.
