Pineville, La. (2/20/2026) — The Bayou Maria Road shooting Pineville remains under active investigation after deputies responded Thursday afternoon. Authorities say the Bayou Maria Road shooting Pineville resulted in a warrant for attempted second degree murder.
At approximately 4:27 PM on February 19, 2026, patrol deputies responded to the 500 block of Bayou Maria Road. Deputies received a report of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound. However, the suspect had left before deputies arrived.
Soon after, Sheriff’s Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit arrived and began processing the scene. Investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. As a result, detectives identified the suspect as Kendale Corday Wilkins, 19, of Alexandria.
Detectives reviewed the evidence and established probable cause in the case. They then secured a warrant for Wilkins’ arrest on one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder.
Authorities warn that Wilkins should be considered armed and dangerous. Law enforcement continues to search for him.
Meanwhile, Sheriff’s Detectives confirm the investigation remains active and ongoing. Investigators urge anyone with information to come forward.
