Alexandria, LA (06/17/2024) – On Sunday, June 16, 2024, at approximately 9:50 PM, the Alexandria Police Department (APD) responded to a shooting in the 2200 block of West Sycamore Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but no update on their condition has been released by APD.
APD has also not provided information regarding the motive for the crime or whether it was an isolated incident.
On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, APD arrested 29-year-old Trey Robinson and 28-year-old Daira Payne, both of Alexandria, LA, in connection with the shooting. Robinson was charged with one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder, and Payne was charged with one count of Accessory After the Fact to Attempted Second Degree Murder and one count of Obstruction of Justice. Both suspects were booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
Robinson’s bond was set at $500,000, and he bonded out on the same day. As of this article, Payne remains in the Rapides Parish Detention Center, with her bond set at $100,000.
