Grant Parish, LA (10/21/2024) – A long-term, undercover drug investigation by the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) task force resulted in the arrest of two individuals in Grant and Rapides Parishes. The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the arrests on Monday.
Derek Green, a 43-year-old resident of Boyce, was taken into custody and charged with four counts of distribution of fentanyl and four counts of distribution of methamphetamine. Authorities allege that Green had been actively selling these drugs in both Grant and Rapides Parishes.
In a related arrest, Heather Lachney, a 36-year-old resident of Dry Prong, was charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation and arrests underscore the efforts of local law enforcement agencies to combat drug distribution in the region. These arrests are part of a larger initiative to reduce the availability of dangerous drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine in local communities.
The suspects remain in custody as of this article.
