Shreveport, LA (May 20, 2024) – On May 20, 2024, at approximately 1:39 a.m., the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to reports of a shooting in a parking lot located in the 2500 block of W. Bert Kouns.
Upon arrival, SPD officers discovered a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Ochsner LSU Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
While processing the scene, officers were alerted to another female gunshot victim who had arrived at Willis-Knighton South Hospital Emergency Room by private vehicle. This second victim also succumbed to her injuries.
A Shreveport Police spokesperson stated that upon arrival, SPD officers encountered a large crowd in the parking lot. Officers located a female gunshot victim and she was transported to undisclosed hospital from the scene.
A possible suspect was taken into custody after being spotted pacing near a shotgun found at the scene. The shotgun was seized and processed as evidence.
