ALEXANDRIA, La. (2/22/2024) – A Lanny Street shooting left two people injured Thursday night as residents described the incident as a possible shootout.
Deputies with the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO) secured the area, restricting access while investigating the crime scene.
RPSO reported that deputies responded around 8 p.m. to the 4800 block of Lanny Street following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims with gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services. Their conditions remain undisclosed.
Investigators, including Sheriff’s Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit, collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. Agents with RADE also assisted with the investigation.
A resident attempting to return home after the incident stated deputies had secured the perimeter and were preventing access to the area.
