St. Landry, LA (12/3/2025) – Two inmates escaped the St. Landry Parish Jail early Tuesday morning. The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed the escape and launched an internal investigation.
The inmates found a weak section of an upper wall. They removed the mortar over time, creating enough space to pull out concrete blocks. This opening allowed them to leave the secure area.
After exiting the wall, the inmates used sheets and other items to climb the outer jail wall. They then dropped onto a first-floor roof. Finally, they lowered themselves to the ground and fled the facility.
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports that jail supervisors will file a full report. That report and findings from the internal investigation will go to his office for action.
Both escapees face violent charges. Authorities warn the public not to approach either man. Instead, residents should call local law enforcement, the Sheriff’s Office, or 911 if they see them.
Anyone with information should call the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-948-6516. Additionally, tips may be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 337-948-TIPS, the P3 app, or by dialing TIPS on a mobile phone. All tips remain anonymous, and callers may earn a cash reward.
