Shreveport, LA (11/21/2024) – Caddo Parish deputies arrested on multiple charges now face serious allegations following an investigation into excessive force against an inmate.
Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. confirmed the arrests on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Preston Eichelberger, employed since March 2022, and Corey Steadman, employed since January 2020, were taken into custody. Authorities allege they used excessive force while working at the Caddo Parish Correctional Facility.
Eichelberger faces two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of malfeasance in office. Meanwhile, Steadman is charged with two counts of second-degree battery and two counts of malfeasance in office. Both men have been booked into the Caddo Correctional Facility.
Sheriff Whitehorn emphasized that the ongoing investigation reflects the department’s commitment to accountability. The arrests of the Caddo Parish deputies arrested are part of broader efforts to ensure justice within the facility.
