Pineville, LA (3/2/2023) – Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on February 13, 2023, Patrol Deputies responded to a local business in the 1700 block of Hickory Hill Road in Pineville, LA, about a burglary. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the complainant, who advised they had arrived at the business that morning and discovered the burglary. Deputies took the initial report, and the case was assigned to Detectives from the Tioga Substation for a follow-up investigation.
Detectives responded to conduct their investigation and located video footage of 4 suspects entering the business. From the video, Detectives could determine 2 of the suspects were armed with firearms. As their investigation continued, on February 14, Patrol Deputies made a traffic stop on a black Nissan Versa for improper license plate display. Detectives informed Patrol Deputies that the vehicle was associated with the burglary of the business the day before. The vehicle was driven by Cheyenne Bernice Tyler, 20, of Pineville, LA. Tyler was found in possession of illegal narcotics and was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on various charges. Deputies also located items in the vehicle that were consistent with what was reported taken in the burglary. Deputies towed the vehicle for Detectives to get a search warrant for the vehicle. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the vehicle, and almost all of the stolen property from the business was recovered.
From their investigation, Detectives were able to identify all four suspects in the burglary. Detectives were able to establish sufficient probable cause, and warrants were obtained for Jaiden Keith Rosier, 19, of Dry Prong, LA, for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, two counts Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, Simple Burglary, Criminal Conspiracy, Unauthorized Entry of a Place of Business, and Simple Criminal Damage to Property < $1,000.00.
Detectives obtained warrants on the Tyler suspect for two counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile and Criminal Conspiracy. Tyler was re-arrested while in jail, and the total bond was set at $11,000.00. Tyler was released on February 17.
Detectives were able to identify the other two suspects as juveniles. One juvenile has been cited and released back to his family, and the other juvenile is still at large.
On February 14, Rosier was taken into custody without incident by Rapides and Grant Detectives in Grant Parish. Rosier was booked into the Grant Parish Jail and transferred to the Rapides Parish Jail. Rosier remains in jail at the time of this release, being held on a $135,500.00 bond.
Sheriff’s Detectives say this is still an active investigation, and more arrests could be made. If anyone has any additional information about these crimes, please contact Detective Matt Dauzat, Criminal Investigations-Tioga Substation, at 318-641-6010 or Crime Stoppers at 318-443-7867.
