Two Additional Arrests Made in Connection to Ty’rez “K6” Gold Murder on Overton Street

Alexandria, LA (7/13/2024) – The Alexandria Police Department (APD) has made two additional arrests in connection with the June 18, 2024, murder of Ty’rez “K6” Gold in the 2700 block of Overton Street.

Third Arrest: Robert Swafford On Friday, July 12, 2024, APD arrested 19-year-old Robert Swafford of Alexandria, LA, charging him with one count of Second Degree Murder. The arrest followed a tense scene on Martha Street where police, using a bullhorn, demanded occupants of a house come out with their hands up, but no one exited the home.

UrbanCast/involvedinitall.com observed the arrest as Swafford approached from the east on Enterprise Road. Multiple residents near officers identified Swafford, prompting police to approach with weapons drawn.

Swafford complied with the police commands, dropping to the ground before being handcuffed and escorted towards Martha Lane.

Swafford’s bond is set at $1,000,000.

Second Arrest: Brandon Whipple On Thursday, July 11, 2024, APD arrested 21-year-old Brandon Whipple of Alexandria, LA. Whipple is also charged with one count of Second Degree Murder in connection with the same incident.

Whipple’s bond is set at $1,000,000.

APD emphasizes that the investigation into Ty’rez Gold’s murder is ongoing. They urge anyone with information about this incident or other crimes in the Alexandria area to come forward.
