Trayce Snow Announces Candidacy for Alexandria City Council At-Large

Alexandria, LA (7/12/2024) – Trayce Snow, a respected community leader with deep ties to Alexandria, has announced her candidacy for the Council At-Large position on the Alexandria City Council. With a platform focused on equity, transparency, and community engagement, Snow aims to bring her extensive experience and commitment to public service to the council.

Background and Career

Snow’s dedication to service is rooted in her upbringing in a military family, with a career Army father and a family of veterans. She carried this legacy forward by serving as a U.S. Air Force nurse. Snow has called Alexandria home for the past 25 years and has continually sought ways to contribute to the community.

Her career began with a nursing degree from the University of Kansas in 1985, followed by a degree in communication studies from Louisiana State University at Alexandria in 2008. Snow spent 12 years at The Rapides Foundation, where she honed her skills in communications, community building, budget oversight, and board participation, retiring as the Senior Program Officer for the Healthy Behaviors and Healthcare Access Initiatives.

Snow currently serves on the boards of the Alexandria Museum of Arts, the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts, and the Friends of the Rapides Library. She also volunteers with the Adult Literacy Initiative and has served on the boards of the Greater Alexandria Economic Authority (GAEDA), Glass Act Recycling, and the advisory council of the Good Food Project at the Food Bank of Central Louisiana.

Snow’s campaign is built on the principle of equity in city services, programming, and public resources across all five districts. She is committed to fostering open communication, promoting public transparency, and supporting constructive cooperation with the city administration. Her goal is to ensure that every resident, regardless of district or background, has equitable and fair access to essential services, enriching programs, and vital public resources.

“By prioritizing equity, we can address disparities, empower underserved communities, and create a more inclusive environment where everyone can thrive,” Snow stated. She aims to implement policies and initiatives that promote fairness and opportunity for all, leveraging her experience and compassion to uphold integrity, foster unity, and ensure sustainable growth and prosperity for Alexandria.
