Alexandria, LA (3/17/24) – On Sunday, March 17, 2024, the Alexandria Police Department (APD) responded to a distress call at the parking lot of Alexandria Senior High, situated at 800 Ola Street. The call reported an individual suffering from a gunshot wound at approximately 5:30 PM.
The victim, identified as Don Butler, Jr., aged 20 and a resident of Alexandria, was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Regrettably, despite medical efforts, Butler succumbed to his injuries.
APD has refrained from speculating on the cause of the shooting. However, they have confirmed that the department is awaiting autopsy results as part of the ongoing investigation.
