Rapides Parish, LA (1/14/2024) – On January 13, 2024, tragedy struck the Deville community as Louisiana State Police (LSP) Troop E responded to a one-vehicle crash on Nation Road at around 4:00 p.m. The crash resulted in the untimely death of 48-year-old Brandon Jenkins.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Jenkins, operating a motorized assisted bicycle, was traveling west on Nation Road when, for reasons still under scrutiny, he fell off the bicycle, suffering fatal injuries. Routine toxicology samples have been obtained for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
While the exact cause of the crash remains under examination, the authorities emphasize that distracted and inattentive driving poses a significant risk on the roads, urging all motorists to remain vigilant.
