Sabine Parish, LA (5/8/2023) – Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that one person was dead on Sunday, May 7, 2023, and injured in a shooting at the Toledo Bend Resort.
At 1:00 AM on May 7, 2023, deputies responded to a report of a disturbance involving multiple individuals and firearms at Toledo Bend Resort (formerly Southern Leisure) near Toledo Town.
Upon arrival, it was learned that at least two individuals had been shot. Both victims were transported to Sabine Medical Center by personal vehicles. One of the individuals was pronounced dead at Sabine Medical Center, with the other being transported to Rapides Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
This is an ongoing active investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
