Colfax, LA (11/25/2025) – Three attempts to smuggle drugs into the Federal Prison in Grant Parish over the weekend led to multiple arrests.
Deputies say each incident involved a different suspect trying to bring illegal substances into the facility.
Madison Olsen, 26, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, was arrested first. Deputies charged Olsen with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and taking contraband into a penal institution.
Brenda Bishop, 64, of Athens, Georgia, was arrested in a separate incident. Moreover, deputies charged Bishop with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of CDS IV, and taking contraband into a penal institution.
Finally, deputies arrested Darrisha Chew, 30, of Pineville, in the third incident. Chew was charged with possession of marijuana and taking contraband into a penal institution.
Authorities say these cases highlight ongoing attempts to smuggle drugs into the Federal Prison. Additionally, they noted that vigilance and quick action helped prevent contraband from entering the facility.
