Shreveport, LA (2/19/2023) – Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to two shooting incidents at the Krewe of Gemini Parade in a span of 30 minutes.
On Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 5:45 pm SPD received a call for a shooting near Clyde Fant and Coates Bluff. A male gunshot victim, believed to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck, was transported to a local Shreveport hospital with life-threatening injuries.
At 6:15 pm SPD received another shooting call for Clyde Fant Parkway and Oden Street. Upon arrival, one gunshot victim was located. That gunshot victim was transported to Oschner LSU Hospital.
The Caddo Parish Coroner identified the first victim fatally wounded as a teen resident of Marshall, Texas.
Kip Lewis, 17, died at 6:17 p.m. at Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where he had been taken following the 5:45 pm incident around the 2200 block of Clyde Fant Parkway service road.
The shooting remains under investigation by SPD. An autopsy was ordered.
