Texas: Nine teens injured by gunfire at an after-prom party in Jasper; Ages ranged from 15 – 19

Jasper, TX (4/23/2023) – The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a call of shots fired shortly after midnight on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

The disturbance occurred on County Road 263, north of Jasper. 

Upon the Deputies’ arrival, nine victims were found to have non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. 

The incident erupted at an after-prom party held at a residence on County Road 263.

The victims whose ages ranged from 15 to 19, were transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital, and some were transferred to Christus St. Elizabeth in Beaumont, Texas, for further treatment. 

This investigation is ongoing, and persons of interest are being questioned.
