Houma, LA (11/10/2025) — Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Terrebonne Parish man in an ongoing child cyber crime investigation.
Detectives with the Special Victims Unit (SVU) and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, working with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, re-arrested Angel Rodas, 25, of Gray, Louisiana. The charges stem from extensive forensic reviews and evidence recovered during a continuing investigation.
During the initial investigation, SVU Detectives analyzed several cyber tips received through national reporting systems. They discovered over 66 files containing child sexual abuse material involving victims from infancy to 12 years old.
Detectives determined all of the material came from a single computer system, based on digital forensic markers. As a result, investigators obtained warrants and arrested Rodas for 66 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex and later released after posting bond.
However, the investigation continued. Detectives conducted a deeper forensic review of evidence seized from Rodas’ residence. That review revealed an additional 392 videos and photographs of prepubescent children, ranging in age from 1 to 13 years old, engaged in explicit acts.
Investigators also found two videos involving sexual abuse of animals among the recovered evidence.
On November 9, 2025, around 4:00 p.m., SVU Detectives arrested Rodas a second time at his Gray residence. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on 392 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles and two counts of Sexual Abuse of an Animal.
Rodas remains in custody on a $775,000 bond, set by local judges.
Sheriff Soignet expressed his deep concern over the crimes, stating, “The disturbing nature of these offenses underscores our unwavering commitment to protect our children.”
He continued, “Our SVU Detectives work tirelessly to ensure that those who exploit children face full accountability under the law.”
The investigation remains active as Detectives continue to examine the digital evidence and coordinate with state and federal partners.
All arrested persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
