Hammond, La. (10/31/2022) – According to Louisiana State Police (LSP), Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) requested LSP to investigate an officer involved shooting. Detectives assigned to the LSP Bureau of Investigations were authorized and dispatched to the shooting which occurred on Laurie Drive off of Wardline Road in Hammond.
According to TPSO, deputies responded to a domestic incident off Laurie Road and Wardline Road.
During negotiations/standoff with the man, he got out of a vehicle and started shooting toward deputies. Deputies returned gunfire, striking and killing the suspect.
No officers were injured during the incident.
This is an active investigation and further information will be released when it becomes available.
