State Police Investigate Fatal Deputy-Involved Shooting in Sabine Parish

MANY, La. (8/3/2025) — The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations has launched an investigation into a fatal deputy-involved shooting that occurred Saturday night in Sabine Parish.

According to a news release from Louisiana State Police (Region 3), the incident took place on Branam Road at approximately 9:42 p.m. on August 2. Detectives were requested by the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate the shooting.

Authorities confirmed that one individual was shot and later pronounced dead. No deputies were injured in the incident.

At this time, few details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting have been released. State Police detectives are actively processing the scene and working to gather more information.
