Pineville, LA (10/23/2024) – On October 22, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM, Pineville Police Officers responded to a stabbing in Pineville at 406 Dorothy Street. The altercation between the victim and Shemar Johnson, a 21-year-old Black male, escalated, resulting in Johnson stabbing the victim.
Officers secured the scene, allowing medical personnel to assist the injured victim. During the process, officers encountered Jamaria Johnson, a 23-year-old Black male, who refused to comply with their orders.
After further investigation, police arrested Shemar Johnson, charging him with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Obstruction of Justice – Evidence Tampering. Jamaria Johnson was also arrested for Resisting a Police Officer with Force or Violence and Obstruction of Justice by Intimidation or Threatening.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Currently, Shemar Johnson is being held at the Rapides Parish Detention Center on a $151,000 bond. Jamaria Johnson is being held on a $16,000 bond. Authorities are continuing to investigate the stabbing in Pineville.
