...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southeastern Rapides,
northern Evangeline, east central Beauregard, western Avoyelles and
Allen Parishes through 530 PM CDT...

At 458 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Lecompte to near Elizabeth to 7 miles west
of Sugartown. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Oakdale, Marksville, Bunkie, Oberlin, Glenmora, Moreauville,
Cheneyville, Elizabeth, Turkey Creek, Dry Creek, Effie, Mittie,
Grant, Cottonport, Pine Prairie, Mansura, Lecompte, Hessmer,
Evergreen and Plaucheville.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 44 and 71.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
