Slidell, LA (3/4/2023) – Slidell Police Department (SPD) is investigating a double homicide, which occurred shortly before 11:00 am this morning.
Officers responded to the 3100 block of Terrace Avenue, after receiving multiple 911 calls in reference to a shooting. Officers located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, one of which was deceased at the scene. The other victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. It is believed that the victims are brothers; however, authorities are not releasing their identity until confirmation is made from the St. Tammany Parish Coroner.
The Slidell Police Criminal Investigations Division is leading the investigation. A suspect is in-custody.
Investigators are not releasing any further information at this time.
Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal says, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ family. When a tragedy like this happens in our community, it affects everyone. I am confident there will be swift justice in this case.”
This is Slidell’s first two homicides of the year. More information will be released as it becomes available.
